The Swiss HUBER+SUHNER Group, a leading global supplier of components and systems for electrical and optical connectivity, has been producing radio-frequency products at its subsidiary company in Tzcew / Gdansk, Poland since 2003. In November 2005, this plant received the ISO/ TS 16949 certificate and now represents the company’s third site to be awarded a certificate for this exacting automotive standard. For the HUBER+SUHNER Group, this represents a further recognition of the continued optimisation of quality standards in the company's global production and distribution network.
The automotive industry is making ever greater use of modern connection technologies in the equipment components of new cars: technologies which make possible features such as navigation systems, pre-crash sensor systems, distance radar, tyre pressure monitoring, satellite radio and so on. To ensure perfect electrical transmission, only high-quality, 100% reliable products are used. For suppliers to the automotive industry such as HUBER+SUHNER, the decisive factor besides state-of-the-art production facilities is process quality and product reliability. At the site in Tzcew, now certified according to the ISO/TS 16949 quality standard, HUBER+SUHNER mostly manufactures customised radio-frequency components for use in vehicles and in radio base stations for mobile telephony. This makes it only logical to adopt a zero-defect policy in its business processes.
Entire Polish plant achieves ISO/TS 16949
HUBER+SUHNER established its Polish subsidiary in 2003. In the same
year, the factory achieved certification for the globally recognised quality standard ISO 9001. Starting
2005, the entire Polish site has been manufacturing in line with the automotive standard ISO/ TS 16949.
The now passed certification enables HUBER+SUHNER to supply its products for the automotive sector at
competitive cost and with the highest quality, from its factory in Poland. Furthermore, the company’s
other customers in Communication, Transportation and Industry will benefit from the high level of these
processes. The commitment to quality which has always characterised HUBER+SUHNER and which this certification
verifies, reflects, together with the continued development of the global manufacturing network, HUBER+SUHNER’s
desire to continually increase process quality, product performance and competitiveness.

Customised products for the automotive market
The marked increase in demand for electronic systems in vehicles is accompanied by increased demand on data and signal transmission components. These components are required to provide maximum reliability and dependability in a restricted space and under extreme working conditions. To meet these exacting requirements, in its automotive sector HUBER+SUHNER manufactures and markets not only high-quality Radox® cable solutions and polymer components but also innovative, reliable radio-frequency components “ARC” in accordance with established automotive standards. The Swiss company’s customer list includes specialised first tier suppliers such as Autoliv, Fuba, Harada, Bosch, Delphi and PKC delivering to the major vehicle manufacturers such as Volkswagen, Audi, Scania, Mercedes, GM, Renault, Peugeot.
