Mounting variants

There are several alternatives to mount a hermetic sealed connector  on a panel. Besides the glass-seal, the mounting variant also has influence regarding leak rate of the connector or adaptor. Depending on the variant a leak rate between 10-6 Torrl/sec and 10-8 Torrl/sec (atm cc/s) can be achieved.

Flange with O-Ring
The connector is screwed into panel. The sealing between connector and panel is accomplished by an O-Ring which is located in the flange.
Leak rate (typical)  10-6 Torrl/sec (atm cc/s)
Flange with O-ring

Spark plug
The connector is screwed into panel. The sealing between connector and panel is accomplished by a metal ring. This ring gets compressed. To make sure the ring is correctly compressed, the use of a torque wrench is recommended.
Leak rate (typical)  10-8 Torrl/sec (atm cc/s)

Direct soldering
The connector is soldered into panel. There is no additional gasket or metal ring necessary. Recommended soldering temperature is 250°C / 482°F.
Leak rate (typical) 10-8 Torrl/sec (atm cc/s)
Direct soldering
